About Us
History
In 1926 eleven women at the University of Redlands founded the sorority Kappa Pi Zeta. The original colors were Old Rose and Silver. The sorority thrived for many years holding true to their pillar of “Zeal for the Future.” Years later the organizations numbers dwindled and eventually died out. Kappa Pi Zeta was later brought back to life by a group of women who sought to create an environmental sisterhood.
In May of 2011 Kappa Pi Zeta was re-founded and became the nation’s first environmental sorority. Zeta was founded on the pillars of sustainability, creativity, individuality, and lastly zeal for the future; just like the original Zetas of the 1920’s. Kappa Pi Zeta has grown immensely since its founding just 3 years ago and has taken a five new member classes.
